Re: Drill Pipe Explodes Killing Floor Hand
Yep...the Driller was a worm driller fresh off the derrick, he is now a company man working for Rig #15 Cyclone Drilling out of Wyoming, it was his first hitch as driller and he forgot to shut that mudpump off...roughnecking is dangerous, but if yer a roughneck, you'd say" that's just roughneckin!" No one died, the guy was a worm floorhand from Montana who now works as a Driller for Key Energy in the Bakken...I know them both, and we STILL laugh about that did when we hit the bars...thats the Bakken for ya! Go get some, if you got the balls to really earn your money ![]() ...and Grimreaper, you roughneck you! You know how it is in the oilpatch! |

Re: Drill Pipe Explodes Killing Floor Hand
I got hired on back in 06 I think and this would have been me. It was only $13.85 or something to be a roustabout, but during training those experienced guys didn't care for me much. I was only 18 and never had a real job before, and I ended up failing the training for a safety violation. I thought that was harsh but the job probably wasn't for me anyway.
