We work on dump trucks often here. We always bring them in the shop and use a hoist to hold the bed up from above as well as putting supports between the bed and the truck frame.

It keeps anyone from being turned into mashed taters like this guy

Looks like he somehow caused the hydraulic line to rupture causing the fluid to explode everywhere losing the pressure to keep the bed up. What a way to go
