Re: Distressed Patient Ignored by Hospital Staff, Later Found Dead
keyword: psychiatric ward Psych hospitals are full of doctors and nurses who really aren't doctors and nurses. They went to school and realized they were too scared to do the real thing (like my wife) from the video, i'm assuming she was a patient at the hospital, and this behavior was completely normal for her. bitch cried wolf too many times.....it's a valuable story. |

Re: Distressed Patient Ignored by Hospital Staff, Later Found Dead
The city will pay $2 million to the family of a woman whose death on a psych ward floor was captured on a shocking video that showed hospital staffers ignored her for hours, the Daily News has learned. The settlement signed Wednesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court before Justice Allen Hurkin-Torres, comes 11 months after Esmin Green collapsed and died at the notorious Kings County Hospital psychiatric ward known as G Building. Green, 49, who had a history of mental illness, had been taken to the psychiatric emergency room on June 18 and may have been sitting in the waiting room for nearly a day - including an hour during which she lay on the floor. An autopsy determined she had a fatal blood clot in her lung caused by "physical inactivity." Green's daughter Tecia Harrison sued the city and the Health and Hospitals Corp. for the careless and negligent way her mother was treated. "To anyone who saw the video clip, it was clear this was a horrible, wrongful and negligent act," said lawyer Sanford Rubenstein, who represents Green's daughter. The city Department of Investigation is looking into whether hospital staffers falsified Green's medical records. A medical chart says "Green was "sitting quietly in the waiting room" at 6:20 a.m.; the video clearly shows she was dead on the floor. "The family wants anyone who committed a criminal act with regard to this act to be prosecuted," Rubenstein said. The video was provided to The News by the New York Civil Liberties Union which was suing Kings County Hospital for mistreatment of patients and deplorable conditions in the psych ward. When asked about the video at the time, Mayor Bloomberg responded: "Horrified is much too nice a word. Disgusted, I think, is a better word." Green's death, and a separate investigation of conditions at G Building, led to a high-level shakeup at Kings County Hospital and sweeping changes in patient care. G Building has been shut down. The city has opened a new, $153 million psych ward on the hospital campus. |

Don't even be a phony fuck. You don't give a shit about what happened there. Why would you? You're a selfish cunt like everyone else. Unless that was your relation or someone you knew you're just being a phony cunt if you get all huffy over this shit.
