The man has been identified as Ivan Carlos Lopes Pereira, who was wanted by Amazonas state police for working in a criminal group that stole vehicles in Manaus. Ivan was formerly the manager of a dealership, but after he left, he and fellow ex-employees formed the group to steal vehicles from their former place of employment. It is estimated he was responsible for the disappearance of around 140 cars. Ivan also founded his own dealership, with the intention of reselling the stolen cars.  · |
