I never heard him say that all military operations should be carried out with knives. But I assure you there are circumstances where a knife is much more effective, especially when stealth tactics are necessary. Even nitrogen gas powered guns are not as effective as a KaBar thrust under the jaw or into the heart through the rib cage.
