Re: Depressed Guy Suffering from an Autoimmune Disorder Jumped from 21st Floor
A little from Column A, a little from Column B. It feels a lot like a compulsion sometimes, like how when you're sitting in an uncomfortable position, and you can almost feel your body making the movements required to be comfortable before you actually start respositioning yourself. That's part of why they say that alcohol and drugs can contribute to impulsive suicide. They lower your inhibitions, and that can sometimes include the way a person inhibits themself from acting on impulse. When someone who had no outward risk factors just suddenly offs themself without warning, and they find that a lot of drugs and/or alcohol were active in their system at the time, then it was most likely an impulsive suicide as opposed to one committed due to chronic mental illness or cognitive choice. And that actually happens more often than you might think. |

No, I mean through the hindbrain and brain stem via the back of the mouth. A large enough caliber or a shotgun would either knock you unconscious or just obliterate the perceptive areas of your cortex, but certain calibers that are powerful enough to get the job done could still nevertheless leave your forebrain and other perceptive areas intact and conscious as your body shuts down due to hindbrain trauma. Sort of the opposite of how Budd Dwyer did it, since he blasted most of his cortex out and thus most likely lost consciousness instantly. But if the gun is stuck far enough back into the mouth and aimed at a flat enough angle, concussive trauma to the cortex is minimized as the gasses vent back out of the mouth and most of the force punches through the relatively softer spots at the base of the skull instead of getting trapped inside the much sturdier cranial section. |

Looks more like a jump inside a shopping mall. Can’t imagine riding 21 storey using escalator.

If I had kids, I would hate for them to see something like that. There’s a lot of ways to go that don’t involve being in the public eye. He also could have hurt someone if he landed on them. |
