Re: Delivery Driver Shot Dead Inside Pizzeria
Location Teams from the Crateus Tactical Force were activated around 19:30 on Saturday (12), and moved to the city with the goal of elucinating the case. With support from the Intelligence Service (SAI), the officers obtained security camera footage that showed the exact moment of the execution, as well as the suspect's entry and exit. The perpetrator of the crime was identified as Carlos Daniel Nascimento Rodrigues, known as "Daniel Curinga", resident of 196 Street A, in Novo Oriente. Before approaching the suspect's residence, the officers spoke with a witness who had access to the footage and recognized Daniel, both by his face and clothing. During the attempt to approach, Daniel still tried to escape through the bottom of the house, but was quickly contained with the support of the team of Ray de Novo Oriente. Upon being arrested, he confessed to the crime and revealed that the weapon used had been hidden on the roof of a convenience store, also in Novo Oriente. Daniel also stated that the weapon belonged to Francisco Ferreira de Loiola Júnior, who, according to him, borrowed the gun and gave directions on where to leave it after the crime. Francisco Junior has been located and denied any involvement or ownership of the 380 caliber pistol used in the execution. Confronted with the facts, both were taken to the Crateús Regional Police Station, where appropriate provisions were adopted. Carlos Daniel was acquitted of qualified homicide (Art. 121, Carlos2o, IV, of the Criminal Code) and for disobedience (Art. 330 of the same code). In deposition, the accused reported that the victim had previously attempted attacks on his life, including forcing him out of the city and to take refuge in the south of the country. Daniel claimed that upon returning, he was threatened again by Levy and, fearing for his own life, decided to commit the murder. |
