The body of a man, as yet unidentified, was found in an advanced state of decomposition and partially devoured by vultures on Tuesday afternoon (30) in a thicket in Macapá, Amapá state, Brazil. According to the police, the body was found in the vicinity of the AP-440 highway, and the suspicion is that the find is related to organised crime.
While the police were cordoning off the area, a desperate woman arrived at the scene looking for her husband, who, she said, was "involved" with organised crime gangs and had already been beaten. According to her, he had disappeared when he went to a meeting near Céu das Artes.
However, the condition of the victim's body made it impossible to immediately confirm its identity, and the woman was told to go to the IML (Institute of Forensic Medicine) and also to file a police report at the nearest police station.
