Decomposed Body in Uniform Found Hanging from Tree
The body was found on Wednesday 24th, in the town of Santa Quitéria, rural area of Santana do Manhuaçu. He was found hooked and hanging to the branches of a tree on the bank of the Bom Sucesso stream in an advanced state of decomposition by fishermen who were nearby. The man wore a uniform, and as of yet the victim has not been formally identified. The Military Police and the Fire Department were called immediately to rescue and collect the body, however, the work was not carried out due to lack of equipment and light in the area. Because it was a difficult area to access, the work was scheduled for the morning of Thursday 25th by the firefighters' team, using a boat to retrieve the remains. Firefighters reported that late Thursday morning, the corpse was removed, before being taken for an autopsy. The body will then be sent on to a funeral home in the city till his family (if any) can be informed. A full investigation will begin into the case. |
