A 78-year-old man left his house to look for medicine in the plantation when, on the way, he noticed a pungent odour. After walking one metre past where he detected the smell, the elder found the decomposing body of a man hanging from a tree.

The deceased was 29-year-old Samsul A., who worked in the X-ray section of a local air traffic control department. A relative admitted they hadn't seen Samsul for a month, and had only communicated with him via cellphone. During that period, the family did not know the victim’s activities outside of work until they received information about his death.
