A group of villagers who went to a ditch besides a paddy field to electrocute fish instead found the decomposing, headless corpse of a man. According to a local police chief, "He was lying face down, not wearing clothes, and it did smell."

A decomposing human head was found in a village around one hour away, which is believed to be related. It is not known who the man was, and the circumstances leading up to his death are unclear.

Also found floating in Jombang Regency - an 18-year-old student, Putri R.A.

Her body was found floating with a laceration to her head - believed to be caused by a blunt object - as well as indications of a blow to her stomach. However, Putri was still alive when she entered the river - the cause of death was drowning.

Putri reportedly asked for permission to leave the house on Monday afternoon, but did not say where she was going. Her body was found the following day.
