I ask myself that same question all the time, my friend. All joking put aside, the world now days breaks my heart. It's so easy to be a little nicer, a little kinder and have a little more love for our fellow humans, but we as a race are afflicted with pride, greed, and jealousy.
We can't bear to live with another's differences.
I really am a Reverend, albeit a grubby one at times, and the things I see going on in this world really do make me wonder if the end is near.
How much violence and hatred can the universe handle before it vomits off our planet and into extinction?
I often wonder if people care about each other anymore...

Actually, it's "she"-not "he".
And I used the term "universe" as an all-inclusive term for God.
I am a Reverend, but I tried to use a phrase that anyone of any religion can relate to.
And lastly, nothing in this world is stagnant-it's constantly changing, for better or worse.
And right now I would not call the state of the world "better"-would you?

'm a reverend too....not that it means anything...i just like watching peoples faces when they see reverend on my plane tickets and can't imagine it when they look at me

i'm also member of the week every week so you'd need a different prize..

Well, at the risk of sounding like all of the atheist types around here, that's even more ridiculous as thinking the "Universe" cares as an entity either.

I don't think its hard to argue that the world is "Better" than a significant number of points in history.

But, I don't think either of us have enough information to really answer that. Perpetually assuming that world is currently in its worst state is a common fallacy.

I know what you mean. I think most people expect for me to tell them I'm an ex-con, not a Rev. But it works out well in the long run-the young folk that I talk to feel a lot more comfortable around me because they know I'm not going to judge them or go all fire and brimstone.
