If it was an ABC extinguisher, the powder is Monoammoniam phosphate. I work as a fire extinguisher inspector. My guess with this video, is that the extinguisher was not only old, but hadn't been properly maintained and my have been overcharged. Every 6 years, an extinguisher is fired off, taken apart, the inside is inspected (for cracks/rust), it's all cleaned and put back together again before being recharged. Every 12 years, an extinguisher is emptied out, filled with water, pressurized for a length of time to determine that it doesn't leak pressure, emptied and dried out, refilled with powder, and recharged again. The valve stem and any damaged o-rings are also replaced during the hydrostatic test.
