Very sad video showing the standoff between Deandre Brunston and LA County Sheriff Deputies proves many police are trigger happy, waiting for moments like this one to unload their weapons into a guy. In this case they also killed the police K9 dog who ran towards the suspect as he was being pierced by dozens of bullets. If you’re not a big fan of the pigs, this video is gonna upset you even more. Here’s a thing – the suspect in the video appears to fear the dogs and was begging the police to take them away. There’s a lot of barking and screaming in the video, but you can clearly hear the plea that he was drop the weapon and surrender but he was scared of the dogs and wanted them gone and also wanted some deal with calling his girlfriend which is not important to make my point – the police showed zero people’s skills. The suspect wanted to meet them halfway and be done with it without bloodshed. All he got in return was yell from the cops outside of the video of the camera who kept repeating their broken record “put your gun down” bullshit. I understand the cops risk their lives doing their jobs and this man was obviously a criminal and was armed and dangerous, but they still did not evaluate the situation correctly and kept yelling at him despite his will to make a plea that would end it without any bullets fired. Then the shot is fired (not sure if that was an accident or what), the suspect disarms instantly by tossing a weapon down and once disarmed, he’s repeatedly shot at by the cops in frenzy. Frenzied K9 comes running towards the suspect and gets killed too. The sound seems out of sync with the video towards the end of the footage, so it’s hard to tell whether the first shot was fired prior to suspect disarming or whether it followed the gun toss. One of my theories is that since K9 was close to him, maybe the police released the dog, realizing the suspect was scared shitless of dogs, the suspect saw gnawing German Shepherd charging towards him, pissed his pants and tossed the gun not knowing what to do, the police saw the suspect voluntarily disarmed and opened fire at him. Based on the fact that K9 was basically almost there when the shots were fired, I’m guessing he was released on purpose and that’s what triggered the gun toss and the gun toss triggered trigger happy cops to repeatedly pull their triggers. Again, the suspect was obviously a criminal and clearly has done something bad. Still, in my opinion the police did not handle the standoff well and needlessly killed the guy. You can assume that killing the guy was the rush for the day for these cops anyway. After he was shot, none of the cops bothered to come and see if he could be helped. He was still moving a bit after he dropped to the ground, but none of the cops bothered to see if his life could be saved. They just left him there to die. It was clearly their plan to kill the guy. They may have been waiting for an opportunity to kill someone and get away with it and this seemed like the time to do it. You know – there’s a crook who’s armed. We kill him, we get away cause he was a bad guy and had a gun. How could that possibly could turn against us, right? So there you have it – he would have died one way or another. The cops have decided so and executed the decision as planned. Death by Cop at its finest. Quote:

i hear shots being fired even before they let the dog go..started shooting and then let the dog go?thats fine work boys , fine work UPDATE: Here’s more info on the case .. suspect’s name was Deandre Brunston, he was 24 year old and lived in Compton, California. This killing took place on August 24, 2003 after Sherriff’s deputies of Los Angeles County received report on Deandre Brunston for domestic violence. He was not armed. All he had was a flip-flop shoe he found on the porch where he took refuge after pursuit. That’s what he tossed at the dog after K9 was released to get him. While negotiating with Sherriff’s deputies, Deandre Brunston told them he would put the gun down if he got a chance to call his girlfriend Fonda Brown. The police at the scene called up Lieutenant Patrick Maxwell, head of K9 department who was drunk at a party during the standoff. Despite being drunk, Lieutenant Patrick Maxwell gave orders to release K9 police dog to override decision of Sgt. Earnest Burwell, K9 officer on site who refused to release the dog as it would have been out of policy release. Doggy was subsequently released by a rookie K9 officer and sent to run straight towards Deandre Brunston who threw his flip-flop at him. This prompted the LA County Sheriff’s Deputies to open fire. 81 rounds were fired within split of a second, killing both the dog and Deandre Brunston. K9 was then airlifted to a veterinary hospital by helicopter while Deandre Brunston was left there to bleed to death. |

Amen sir. Amen. They gave him every chance to drop his weapon, put his hands up and surrender. He didn't comply, plain and simple. Ok you're scared of the dogs, I get it, but you're in no position to be issuing ultimatums and making demands. I empathize his loss to his family, but he brought it all on himself.

"If you let the dog go, I'll shoot him" "Put your hands up so you don't get hurt, or I'll send my dog and hes going to bite you. This is your last warning." "And I'll shoot everything. We can do it right now. Let the dog go I dare you. If the dog come my way I'ma bust em. If the dog come over here I'ma shoot him." He acted as if he had a weapon and when the dog came it appeared he was going to shoot him. C'mon man, take that ACLU shit somewhere else. This dude was wrong, dead wrong. How can you defend this guy and say the "pigs" are in the wrong? You need to get your priorities in line dude. I'm not on here to pick a fight, but there have been a shitload police officers murdered in the line of duty in my city in the last 3 years and I'm sick of hearing people defend the criminal. Good work boys. |

Wow, if y'all look up, the police shootings here in Austin, Tx. There's quite a bit of controversy too. I hope, that the police, use the highest level of discretion, I respect their service to the community, but at times, I have to question things. This case, with this suspect, I have to side with the cops, they didn't know, what the suspect was holding.

Everything would of been avoided had he complied with the police demands. And to those who feel badly for this guy, how were the cops suppossed to know he didn't have a gun, only a flip flop. He threatened to shoot and kill the dog if it was released. Had he complied, he would have lived. The police did what they thought they needed to do with the information at hand.
