Re: Deadly Plain Crash in Iceland, Akureyri
I'm thinking that Google translate mixed things up somehow and it should have said something like the pilot only survived the impact but died afterwards. Perhaps it meant that he died of a combination of traumatic and thermal injuries and this will be the opening scene of Fast And The Furious 8.. |

Re: Deadly Plain Crash in Iceland, Akureyri
The pilot is alive and well, there was a report on it on a respected tv channel here in Iceland, plus everybody knows pretty much everybody here so the word spread out really fast that he was alive. The weird thing was that the pilot wasnt even in critical condition and was released from the hospital a few days later :S |

Yes. You have my interest now. Please post anything you can find. I will be the first to admit if I am wrong. The pilot was screaming in there and with that and the fire it just doesn't seem possible for anyone to survive. My father and four others were killed in Abu Dhabi in 2008. Ditched helicopter in 5' of water going approximately 35 knots. The shit life throws at us. |

Re: Deadly Plain Crash in Iceland, Akureyri
Does the video look like its been speed up? look how quick the guy runs down the runway after the crash? If the video isn't sped up then I agree with horsecs, with that kind of speed the pilot could have pulled up. |
