On second look, that's in a corn or grain field, wouldn't that be a water irrigation pipe? Petroleum pipelines carrying fuel oil, jet fuel and the like are usually much thicker (12 inches +). I am a city boy with no farm experience, but a water thief killed by farmers seems more likely.

i read the article and it's def gasoline as he was stealing it. it is called huachiculos or huachicoleros to people who engage in the illegal activity of theft and sale of fuel (gasoline or diesel) and adulterated alcoholic beverages.1 This activity began to take relevance from the release of fuel prices. The word derives from huachicol, an alcoholic beverage adulterated with cane alcohol and other compounds, and also serves to name the stolen fuel, which may be adulterated. |
