Re: Dead Child Killed in Syria

The fact that you even have one makes me lose all respect for you. I guess if you'd just go about it in a non-judgmental way I'd let it go, but its people like you that ruin it.

Think for yourself, don't let imaginary sky fairies make your decisions for you.
I have a mind of my own, thank you, my religious beliefs do not dictate how I live my life. I don't think any one religion is superior to the other, I was brought up better than that.

And I have to admit it's becoming very tiring when atheists and agnostics hold their noses in the air at anyone who believes there is a higher power up there. Too many of them think they're intellectually superior in that respect, especially that jerkwad Richard Dawkins.

It does actually take a lot more intellect to understand the science of the universe, as opposed to a book that is thousands of years old that has no scientific proof. I'm open to the idea that there may be a higher force, I just don't think that YOU know what he/she wants.

Judging by your comments, obviously you do feel that your religion is superior to at least 1 other. So basically you believe that your imaginary sky fairy, that nobody can see or communicate with is superior to someone else's.
Really, what IS the difference between being scitzoid and going to Church?

And exactly how did you work out that I actually go to church?

I stand by what I said. The atheists I've met, none of them have held the slightest shred of regard or respect for anyone else's beliefs, and then there are those that when you challange them, become incensed that you would dare call their "lack" of beliefs into question!

And how exactly did you work out that I hold any religion over another? Did you go through every post I've ever made in the 2 or so years I've been on here and pinpoint one where I said "This religion is better than that one"? Being a man of science who needs to have proof of anything I'm sure you'd understand that I will also require the same.

We worship the same god. We only call him different names.

I can tell by your comments regarding Muslims that you see yours as superior, and you have already stated that you have contempt for atheists. I don't know if you attend Church or not, but you do identify as a part of a religious belief.

I've already said I'm open to the idea that maybe there is a God. I think that's what they call agnostic. In any case, I have yet to see an intelligent debate between a scientist and a creationist. If you know where I can find one, I'd be more than happy to watch it.

Yes I identify as being Roman Catholic (recovering), but it's not something I think about, not something that drives my life, it's like my hair color, or the fact that I'm half Cherokee-it just exists!

I was forced into the same when I was a kid. I never did buy into it, and after seeing how the molestation incidents were handled I'll never identify with them again. They were more concerned with protecting their Priests than the children.
They still rail against any form of birth control, but are completely against abortion....... Makes perfect sense to me.
