I really really don't want to know, but somehow it really could be just wood chips they climb through .... are they would chips, or something far more awful in a sewer?

I was wondering the same thing. It sure looks like wood chips to me. Is that a sewer or a river? Isn't India kinda infamous for their dirty water?
