Daughter, 20 of Oligarch Detained After 5 Killed when Lexus Ploughed into Crowd
Kharkov: In the body of Olena Zaitseva, a 20-year-old driver of the Lexus car, which on Wednesday, October 18 in Kharkov, killed 5 people, opiates were found in blood test results. This was stated by the prosecutor of the Kharkov Prosecutor's Office Maxim Blokhin on Friday, October 20.  During the court session in the Kiev district court of the city of Kharkov, where the election of a suspected preventive measure is being considered, the prosecutor said that Zaitseva had established the fact of using opiates.  The lawyer of the suspect asked for a three-hour break of the court session to examine the new circumstances.  On Wednesday, October 18, in the center of Kharkov, an accident occurred - a Lexus car entered a group of pedestrians, killing five people.  According to preliminary data the Lexus at high speed ran a red light and crashed into a Volkswagen Touareg.  From hitting the Lexus took off on the sidewalk, where at that moment there were dozens of pedestrians.  Another 6, among them a pregnant woman, are in the hospital. The police found that the car was driving a 20-year-old girl - Olena Zaitseva - whose father is multi-millionaire Oligarch Vasily Zaitsev.  She refused to give explanations, but before that it was known that at the wheel the driver was in a sober state. Law enforcers also reported that earlier Zaitsev was involved 6 times for violating the Rules of the Road. The adviser to the minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko has declared, that the girl who has arranged a deadly accident in the center of Kharkov, participated in street races. |
