A man was stabbed to death as he visited family members at a Bronx shelter Thursday, police said. The 31-year-old man was knifed in front of Ketty’s Place on Jackson Ave. near E. 140th St. in Mott Haven around 12:15 p.m., authorities said. The suspect, a 6-foot Hispanic man wearing blue shorts and white T-shirt, was seen running south on Jackson Ave. after the stabbing and is still being sought, cops said. The victim died at Lincoln Hospital. Shooters in Bronx gunfight had disagreement over Medicaid scam Shelter resident Zaquarn Quimberly, 30, said the victim was there to see his brother and two nephews. "He's coming here to see his family, doing the right thing, and he gets stabbed,” said Quimberly. “It's sad man. I can't believe he's dead. It's not right.” The violence happened out of view of a shelter playground. “Kids shouldn't see anything like that," Quimberly said. |
