When you don't have enough speed it will look like that. His landing ramp was exactly where it was supposed to be to break the record. He just didn't get enough pop off the first ramp.

Where he landed, he had the record sewed up. He GOT to the record point. The only question then was the landing, and if you watch the film, he hit the dirt about 5 feet lower than he needed, to be safe. Raising the ramp or lowering it wouldn't have affected the record. He was already there. But having the ramp 5' too high was enough to kill him when he could have easily lived through it.

Here’s a little inside info since I love you all so much

He wasn’t supposed to do the jump for another 45 minutes, no one had any idea he was even on the ramp going for the jump as he had been revving/working on his bike for a bit. Medical crew wasn’t even on hard standby ready to rock and roll since everyone was still expecting a 45 minute wait. His own crew members were the first ones up there and were shaking him trying to wake him up while emergency crews were trying to fight their way through the crowd. Someone done fucked up something in the schedule and communication department. Probably wouldn’t have helped though as he suffered MAJOR trauma to the chest cavity from smashing into the handlebars

An experienced motorcycle stunt rider was killed in Washington state as he practiced for an attempt at a world record jump.

A.H crashed into a dirt berm during a warm-up jump at the Moses Lake airshow on Thursday. The 28-year-old was thrown from the bike and taken to hospital, where he died.

In a statement, the Grant county sheriff said an autopsy would be performed on Friday.

The site for the weekend airshow at Grant county international airport was still advertising details of the record attempt.

The victim, who was married with two young sons, was already the Guinness world record holder for the dirt-to-dirt category, having jumped 90.69m (297.6ft) in 2013.

At the Washington event he was riding a Suzuki 450 as he attempted to better rival Robbie Madison’s 2008 world record in the ramp-to-distance category of 106.98m (351ft).

The victim was born in California and lived in Ephrata, Washington, adjacent to Moses Lake, with his wife, J, and sons W, five, and a newborn, W.

A GoFundMe appeal on the rider’s website said H. was the family’s sole provider, through motorcycle stunts and a farming job. The site had raised more than $42,000 by Friday morning.

He grew up watching the motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel, and shared his idol’s legacy of “pushing the limits.”

One of H’s final Instagram posts three days before his death featured a photograph of his green and yellow motorcycle in front of the ramp with the words: “I’m getting excited to send this thing.”

HE ALREADY HAD THE RECORD. At least wait for someone to beat it before risking your life and the financial stability of your family’s life.
