Building a wall wasn't really then plan. The plan was to bilk millions of dollars by way of saying it was for a wall to keep the "others" out. So, millions of dollars were raised. Then, Steve Bannon went on vacation on a million dollar yacht Then was arrested for deceiving people and raking in the money for his own personal use.

Despite what the headlines would have one believe, the governor and the lunatic far right don't run Dallas, or really much of anything, Texas has a weak governor form of state government and a legislature that only meets every other year. Like every other city in Texas the local government is quite liberal and overwhelmingly democrat. In 1991 Dallas had 500 murders. In the ten years I lived there, 2008-2018, that number never broke 200, despite Dallas having over 300,000 more residents than in 1991. I've never felt in danger in dallas in the last 25 years, the early 90's were a whole different world lol

Well, a legislation that meets once every other year just might be the issue of an ineffective government. Hence, ending up where one has started. I lived in Dallas from 1980 to 2000. I never felt in danger either. The issues back then were bottle neck traffic on central expressway and bumper to bumper traffic on LBJ freeway. I live in San Francisco now for 23 years. I've never felt in danger or unsafe here in SF. I ride the Muni and Bart. Not once have I had an issue. I attribute this to keeping my mouth shut, not calling attention to myself, and not getting involved in crap that has nothing to do with me. I moved here before genderfication. I got to experience San Francisco the way it was back in the old days. I'm truly grateful for the experience of knowing what San Francisco was before all the changes. I still love my adopted city I call home. But it's grown, it's changed, but there are still some parts of SF that are time pieces that never change.

When you can stop them from simply walking in, then you can start tackling the other forms of illegal entry. Border security is going to to be tough because it has been allowed to go unchecked for quite some time. So, we can either do one of two things… attempt to fix it which has been sort of a republican/conservative focus for the last few years, or say fuck it let’s just let everyone in which has been a Democratic focus.. we can point fingers and shift blame but that is the fact of the matter. Actually, less than 20 years ago, border security used to be a priority for a lot of politicians - democrats and republicans alike. You can find clips of Obama, the Clinton’s, Kamala, Joe and many others that advocate for free entry now how they used to stress stronger entry procedures and borders. But that’s what happens when politicians get bought out for agendas. Real solutions become a thing of the past and they get quieter and quieter.
