Cuban Man Shot in His Back and Pistol-whipped in Texas

Houston. A fatal incident unfolded around 4:10 a.m. on May 20, outside a barber shop located at 9387 Richmond Avenue near South Gessner Road.

Espinosa O, 38, from Cuban origin, was a patron inside a local barbershop when a heated argument broke out between him and Emilio Fuentes Cuellar, 45.

The dispute quickly spilled out into the parking lot, where Cuellar allegedly drew a firearm and opened fire, striking the 38-year-old in the back multiple times. After that he pistol-whipped him in the head and left the crime scene.

Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department arrived shortly after but pronounced Espinosa deceased at the scene.

The 49th Criminal District Court has officially charged Emilio Fuentes Cuellar with murder. However, police confirmed he fled the scene and has managed to evade capture. Both involved knew each other and both were originally from Guantánamo, Cuba.

Law enforcement officials describe Cuellar as an armed and dangerous suspect. Crime Stoppers of Houston is currently offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any anonymous information that leads directly to his arrest.

Homicide detectives are searching camera footage. He drove away in a car with a license plate front and back. He’ll be caught eventually. It’s hard to get away with murder in the US especially when they know your name. He can run but he can’t hide for long.
