I drive a cement mixer, state jobs you have 1 hour to get that to the job & start using it or it's rejected, time is a wasting.

Kellyhound is on fire today posting awesome videos.

Serious question, would the driver see them when they started crossing, and if so wouldn't a careful driver think that they might be in front of his truck? Why don't mixers have mirrors so they can see objects in front if visibility is poor? Do cement mixers have poorer visibility in front than other trucks, or is it more the drivers are aloof / stupid / homicidal?

The truck continued on, I wonder if they identified the truck later.

Roger that.. No fucking around when the clock starts

No Disrespect when I said cement mixer truck drivers had the least experience driving of the big trucks in a previous thread.. just being around new construction and seeing all the different drivers come to the many job sites fucking things up with the truck is all I ever noticed..

Re: Crossing the Street in Front of a Cement Mixer Truck

They have to turn a certain number of revolutions per mile as well, which is why they always have a colored pattern on the mixer drum, so inspectors can count revolutions when following them.

The time to deliver is also no joke. Contractor can cancel a load and refuse payment if it is an out-of-time load.

Yeah, it's best to just amble slowly along when in heavy traffic. No need to hurry, or else wait until traffic clears, just mosey out there like you are following ducks at the park.

FAAFO!

Note to self: don't cross the street in front of a cement mixer truck.

I'm certainly no expert on the topic (have never driven a large truck) but just looking at that video I doubt that the driver would have seen them.

Why don't mixers have mirrors so they can see objects in front if visibility is poor? Do cement mixers have poorer visibility in front than other trucks, or is it more the drivers are aloof / stupid / homicidal?
I think you have to attach a certain amount of responsibility to the pedestrians - ie. don't carelessly walk out in front of vehicles, especially large vehicles with restricted visibility.

Wouldn't want to lose your load.
