Re: Criminal Faction Leader Shot Dead in Supermarket Parking Lot
Top leader of the Bala na Cara, bullet in the face, so that's some irony. https://insightcrime.org/brazil-orga.../bala-na-cara/ the killers abandoned their damaged Range Rover in the neighboring city of Sapucaia do Sul and switched to a Ford Fiesta to continue their escape but 26-year-old suspect Lelo was tracked down and arrested. He is accused of being the individual responsible for transporting and hiding the war arsenal incl. the military-grade 7.62 and 5.56 rifles. Lelo, aka Wellington Eduardo Gomes de Oliveira, who is associated with Os Manos, a rival criminal organization. He had previously been incarcerated in a specific prison unit dedicated to Os Manos members at the State Penitentiary of Caxias do Sul. The Bala na Cara started as an armed wing of Os Manos, committing contract killings for the group but the groups split and clashed as they expanded from the state capital, Porto Alegre, into the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. Lelo has an extensive criminal history, featuring prior police records for drug trafficking, issuing illegal threats, and bodily injury. Seized were: Bersa SA pistol caliber 9 mm; Glock 17 Gen 4 pistol caliber 9 mm; Sig Sauer rifle, caliber 5.56; Zastava M70 (AK) rifle, 7.62x39 mm caliber; Extended magazines for pistols and rifles; 113 rounds of ammunition of different calibers; Covers and plates for ballistic vests. A second suspect was arrested that was directly involved in the tactical getaway, helping orchestrate the vehicle swap from the damaged Range Rover Evoque into the Ford Fiesta. |

I notice that they cleared the rest of the family out before letting him have it. I'm guessing that part of the reason is that having the family as collateral damage would go over a lot worse & provide more motivation to go after their asses.
