A Canadian woman who plunged to her death over Niagara Falls may have thrown herself off in a deliberate suicide attempt, police confirmed today. Tourists watched in horror as the 51-year-old, who had been swimming in the river above the Horseshoe Falls, got caught in the rapids and was swept to her death. Today authorities said they had positively identified the woman, who lived in the city of Niagara Falls, but would not release her name until they had informed her family.
