I guess it depends on why he's suffering. A child rapist gets no sympathy from me. If that was why he was suffering. A thief who preys on old folks, likewise gets no sympathy from me. ( I'm 80 years old.) My foot'd be the first one to contact his skull if he preyed on us oldies. ( I like my contractions ) I am thinking that there are may offenses where a criminal would possibly consider him or her self lucky to have only received a beating.
