Re: Couple on a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX 1300 Dies After Crash with a Toyota Hilux
Looks like the motorcycle speeds up to try and pass the truck before it clears. If the motorcycle had slowed down, quite possibly wouldn't have been hit. The car next to them slowed down....no one was behind the motorcycle, so breaking and even stopping...would have saved their lives. But since it was a man as the driver, I can imagine his ego wanted to beat the asshole making the unsafe turn.

Re: Couple on a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX 1300 Dies After Crash with a Toyota Hilux
What a disingenious reply. 1) I did not make up the term "donorcycle", it is used by ER personnel because they get motorcycle fatalities far often than car fatalities! 2) I never said anyyone has "less rights" on the road. 3) Yes, the couple on the bike are irresponsible. Why? Because it is FACT that motorcycle drivers are far more vulnerable on the road. Their vehicle weights nothing, they have no airbags, and they have no protection of a cabin... only a flimsy helmet. Everyone in life takes a degree of risk when doing something. For example a person who likes skydiving is taking a higher risk than most, but they assessed their risk-reward ratio, and that's how they want to live their life. FINE. But this couple had children, and they STILL chose to engage in high-risk behavior. They didn't even ride separate motorcycles to prevent orphaning their children, they rode on THE SAME ONE. So yeah, they are irresponsible. The van's driver should be shot for all I care, but this couple did a disservice to their children, and now the children have to pay for it. How's the foster housing system in Brazil? Stellar? I thought so. |

Re: Couple on a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX 1300 Dies After Crash with a Toyota Hilux
When you drive a bike around 70mph you are invisible. Most drivers expect for cars or larger vehicles and a shape of bike look like a vehicle far far away, thats why that idiot truck driver and everyone else should obey traffic laws. But i will also criticize the parents, an accident is not "if", it is "when" for a bike driver. If you have children dont drive bikes and certainly not a crotch rocket on maximum highway speed, driving bikes is great fun but not as much as seeing your child grow. |
