Couple on Motorcycle Killed After Being Run Over by Speeding Car
A woman died and a man was seriously injured in a traffic accident in the early hours of Sunday (1) in Teresina, Piauí state, Brazil. CCTV footage showed that the driver of a car, who was travelling at high speed, collided into the couple, who were on a motorcycle, whilst they were crossing an intersection. The car driver had sped through a red light. The woman, 27-year-old Laurielle d.S.O., who was the passenger on the motorbike, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Her husband, Francisco F.O.D., 22, died on the early hours of the 3rd. The driver of the car - 22-year-old João H.S.L.B. - was arrested for drink driving, negligent homicide, and for having an expired driver's license. It was also reported that synthetic drugs were found in his pocket. In 2022, João, a law student, crashed into a motorcyclist, who suffered serious injuries as a result. |
