It's a shame they didn't try to make it work without whoever pushed them to that... They could a had a real happy life. You never truly know what makes people do that kind of stuff. Ohhh there was blood |

There's a non-zero chance that they managed to make eye-contact while they were both headless. Although his angle is a little off. In fact, I wonder how many times in history two beheaded people have made momentary eye-contact. |
