Oh yeah, he was just so impatient. Had to get to where he was going and passed in a no passing zone. Selfish idiot cost 2 people their lives.

Can someone with more knowledge share the cause of death? Head injury on impact for the one that flew in the air and lost their helmet, and for the other internal trauma (so maybe not instant?)

Re: Couple on a Bike Dies After Head-on Collision with a Mercedes Van
Absolutely, the van is at fault. BUT! They hit the van when the van was completely back in his own lane. Coming head on with a vehicle, of course you would not want to hit it, but why would you ever, and I say again EVER chose to avoid that incident by going INTO the lane of traffic that normally travels against you???? The van was not more than 1/2 way into the oncoming lane when the motorcycle could be seen, how about just slide over to the right side of your lane and miss the van completely? |

Some kind of target fixation going on maybe? Judging by your avatar you are into bikes, so I presume you might be familiar with this. I doubt they learn about target fixation and counter steering in whatever shithole country this was filmed in. |

Re: Couple on a Bike Dies After Head-on Collision with a Mercedes Van
maybe the rider thought they could fit between the 2 vehicles coming towards him - until the dickhead van driver went back into his lane and almost took out the car behind as well it happened in a fraction of a second for the bike rider and there is not nearly enough time to make a rational decision in that situation - it is very hard to be rational when there are 2 vehicles coming straight at you - i expect even harder when on 2 wheels than on 4 |

Re: Couple on a Bike Dies After Head-on Collision with a Mercedes Van
You could see the van trying to decide to go left or right, he knew they were going to collide. Your right, if you live in a country where you drive on the right, go further right, never left. If you see an animal, never swerve, just brake straight on. But totally vans fault. There is a reason why you never pass on double yellow!
