Corpses of Female Tourist and a Paragliding Guide Retrieved from River
Paraglider pilot/guide S. G, 26 yrs, along with a female passenger (tourist) E. R. S, 23 yrs, took off their flight at around 9:30 from Lachung View point, India and on their gliding way down they accidentally got stuck in a wire thereby loosing their balance so the flight fell into the Lachung River below. The duo thereafter were swept away by the river and subsequently stuck beneath the boulder lying in the middle of the river bed. Immediately, a rescue operation was initiated by the local police, locals, Members of Lachung Dzomsa Hotel Association, Gorkha Regiment and ITBP personnels under the supervision of SDPO Chungthang Shri L.B Chettri & SHO Lachung and after mobilising all resources including heavy earth movers(JCB). The body of the pilot and tourist could be retrieved and have been forwarded to hospital for legal autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. The case under relevant sections has been registered and is under investigation. |

Re: Corpses of Female Tourist and a Paragliding Guide Retrieved from River
It always seems stupid to me that they actually seek a medical examiner to ascertain a cause of death in cases like this. Does it really matter whether it was the fall that killed them, or did they drown? Unless they find bullet holes in their body to indicate someone was taking pop shots at them from the ground, isn’t it safe to just assume they died in a paragliding accident? |

~ For legal reasons, an autopsy is always required to determine the cause of death when an incident/accident/crime occurs. Especially from family members or others affected who may want to file a lawsuit. ~ The paraglider guide doesn't look so skilled, he looks like a hypester biker. |

I was just about to criticize the pilot/guide but a wire got them? Even so shouldn’t the company know of them....? |
