Cops Kill Man at BK, Charlotte, North Carolina
A guy decided to test the cops by having a gun on him. Bad idea. Also, the officer in this video is really loud. Franklin was armed with a gun at the time of the shooting and refused to drop it when commanded to do so by police. Police video released Monday shows an officer in Charlotte, North Carolina, fatally shooting a man who was armed but didn’t point his weapon at authorities. The body camera footage shows two officers approaching the 27-year-old outside a Burger King on March 25 after witnesses called 911 to report a man with a gun acting in a threatening manner. The police video shows officers repeatedly yelling for Franklin, who is black, to put his gun down. He’s seen squatting by the open door of a car, facing someone in the passenger seat. “Sir, put the gun down,” says the officer wearing the body camera. “Drop the gun! |

Uhh, the man is already armed, so when exactly should the officers draw their firearms? Wait until the guy points his gun at them, and is in a position to fire multiple shots, and then draw their weapons? The memorial drawn on the sidewalk is nothing short of idiotic. This wasn't some dude who was gunned down for no good reason. This was an idiotic man armed with a gun, not obeying simple commands, who could have easily shot and killed the officers or bystanders. |
