Re: Cops Fatally Shoots Woman That Stabs Officer with a Knife
Gotta disagree with the whole 'shoot em in the legs/arms/etc.' logic. Ive seen similar attacks end with the stabbing victim losing consciousness in less than 30 seconds (likely carotid or subclavian artery). Based on the officer grabbing a TQ and actually doing pretty damn well at self administering it, guessing he took it in the upper arm. Severing your brachial artery is no joke, either. Lethal force = shoot to stop the threat. Good on that officer to self-administer a TQ as fast as he did.

You gotta respect the man's ability to take charge of the situation and remain calm after getting stabbed like that. Hopefully he heals quickly and can get back to work, he seems like one of the good ones. |

Re: Cops Fatally Shoots Woman That Stabs Officer with a Knife
The "hypothetical situation" I posted on page 2, is actually what happened lol. She assaulted a woman on the street and ran away, the victim flagged down a cop and gave a description. Cops could see (unspecified) visible injuries on her and went searching. The suspect was quickly found but did not stop when told, the cop followed her in his car for "several minutes" until backup arrived and you know the rest. She just didn't want to go to jail. However, none of the articles I found say what brought on the original assault. They made it seem like it was a random attack, so it could be drug or mental health related. The cop got stabbed in the arm and is fine, the original victim's injuries weren't serious and is also fine. The knife: |
