I'll never get the "I thought it was unloaded" story.

I don't understand why he was convicted of "killing with probable intent" when it clearly appeared to be accidental.

He was pretty fast. But the law was faster.

See the story as told on the big screen in the blockbuster release coming this summer: “I Thought the Gun Was Unloaded”.

Coming soon to a theater near you.

This is purely my opinion. If the perpetrator was trying to demonstrate a quick-draw technique, would it be necessary for him to show it by pointing the gun directly at the victim? Normally, if you show a technique, observers would usually be looking off to the side and not directly in front of the demonstration. Also, you have to take into consideration that the guy is a cop who would supposedly have been given training on the safe handling of firearms.

So, someone could say that the perpetrator deliberately created a situation to make the scene look like an accident. Personally, I think the guy was just a low-iq idiot. Hope that clears up your confusion.

'In criminal law, mens rea (/ˈmɛnz ˈreɪə/; Law Latin for "guilty mind"[1]) is the mental state of a defendant who is accused of committing a crime. In common law jurisdictions, most crimes require proof both of mens rea and actus reus ("guilty act") before the defendant can be found guilty.'

It's supposed to be "Fight like you train" not "Demonstrate ON your best friend how you train."
