Re: Cop and Robber Die During Exchange of Gunfire

In the academy (Artesia,NM) they teach you that action beats reaction, cover and concealment and that you practice real life situations daily. I've worked in law enforcement for 14 years and yes training is extremely important however there are times that all the training in the world won't help you in certain instances. Personally in this situation I would never have approached them that closely and would've initiated a felony arrest situation. On their knees legs croaaed behind them, facing away from me and hands behind the head with fingers interlocked. I would've called for assistance as soon as I recognized them and made sure I had at least concealment all the while making sure my sidearm never pointed away from them until they were in custody. Either way, the man did the best he could and what he felt was best in that situation. He made the ultimate sacrifice for his countrymen and it's sad seeing the good ding at the hands of the evil.

Re: Cop and Robber Die During Exchange of Gunfire

Guys, one of my friends was taking some form of self defense. His instructor was a pretty high ranked black belt or whatever, I dont personally know the levels, he was a master in the art of self defense. However, even with all the years of 'practice' and 'training', as most of you seem to think this cop needed more of, he was never engaged in any real world self defense needing situation. Until one particular night, he got mugged at gun point, rather than react how he was 'trained' and how he teaches his students, he froze up, wound up getting the shit kicked out of him for trying to react. Point is, it doesn't matter how much 'training' this guy had, he could have spent every single day in the shooting range for all we know, been the best shot on his unit, broken records etc. But when faced with a real world, adrenalin pumping, potentially life ending situation....you wont know how you're body will respond, until youre in the situation at hand. People seriously need to stop with the assumptions in these video's. Too many people seem to think they were there, and know the person that died personally. Just watch the video's, but don't bother throwing your two cents in, if you're just gonna make a bunch of ignorant guesses about whats going on.
Very true statement my man
