Re: Cop Murders 50-year-old Walter Scott for Running
The cop put the taser next to the body for fingerprints, because if you hear the audio, the man was obviously reaching for the taser. And this dude running away could have had a deadly weapon on him, and could have endangered not only the cop but others. Could have seeked cover behind the tree to pull out his weapon and shoot the cop. You think the cop was going to take that chance? And he fired so many bullets because he's shooting to kill. The cop made the decision that this guy is a threat to him and others. It's too bad this guy just didn't comply. He got what was coming to him in the way he reacted. And it in no way has anything to do with race. The same result would have happened with anybody. I'm a 26 year old white male who sells art for a living, and I'm just sharing my observations. |

Re: Cop Murders 50-year-old Walter Scott for Running
One does not simply walk away after violently and criminally assaulting a police officer. Oh no. That ship had sailed. Low life Trayvon Martin Ghetto Trash Thugs like to escalate situations...and then cry when the consequences show up. You can escalate the danger of a situation pretty easily and quickly...to the point of Lethality. That is exactly what this Trayvon Martin did and ended up dead as he should have. |

Re: Cop Murders 50-year-old Walter Scott for Running
He tampered with a crime scene by moving the taser over to where the body was, for fingerprints? Wtf are you talking about? Are the fingerprints going to fall off of the taser if they're not next to the body? You think maybe, just maybe the cop did that to make it look like there was a struggle involving the taser where the body was lying? That maybe the cop knew he'd fucked up and was trying to cover his ass, because he knew he'd committed murder by shooting a running man in the back? I just don't get the thought process here Cops should be justified in shooting people that run from them, because the person running might be armed and planning on hurting someone? Wow. |

Re: Cop Murders 50-year-old Walter Scott for Running
That has been disproved the taser barbs / wire carried the taser with him as he ran not that it justified the shooting until an investigation is done. but the enhance vid clearly shows the taser being draged along then the cop picking it up

Re: Cop Murders 50-year-old Walter Scott for Running
Agreed. And the nail that seals it is that perception matters, not some perfect objective reality as portrayed in a video camera. that means in the heat of the moment if the cop assessed this person to be a threat, he's justified. A fat black guy starts running as a result of a routine traffic stop. He struggles with me, at one point and continues to run off after the physical confrontation. Cover and/or concealment is available in the direction he's running. You better believe I feel he's a threat at that point. Time to let the bullets fly |
