Maybe he didn't feel safe popping open the trunk, taking his eyes off the suspect and readying the shotgun while she was still holding a knife, moving towards him. A taser is another thought, however if, just if it doesn't work or misses it's one shot, he then gives the suspect time to close more distance to him, while he fiddles with holstering the taser, then going for his pistol. Not to mention he had no idea if she did or did not have a gun in the small of her back or pocket, where she was clearly yelling she did. He covered his own ass

My opinion is completely biased here because I hate to see women suffer especially if they have a mental illness like the women in the video but couldn't the officer use less than lethal force like a shotgun with salt or rubber bullets to disarm her in the situation? Again my opinion is biased; if it was a guy in this situation I probably would care as much.
Only if the woman was running towards the officer with a rubber knife.
