What does 'contractors' mean? Does that mean mercenaries? Torturers? Anybody that fights war for profit, or does things that they troops aren't allowed to is pretty much asking for it. They knew who they were after and made a pretty brazen attack on him. I'm assuming he wasn't 'on the up and up', as they say.

Contractors = Anyone who works for the occupying power, cooks cleaners or other non military workers.
