It doesn't look like he ever touched the pole. He's still sitting on the bike.

He probably drove onto that narrow dirt path at a very slow speed and made contact with the fence as he was going past the pole. Given that the fence posts are only a few inches away from the path, it's would be a pretty tight fit.

Because he probably had to roll to a near stop, I'm thinking he came into contact with one of the wires, lost motor control, tipped over, landed on the bottom wire, and eventually burst into flames.

Damn that's some serious current. It's like they wired the fence directly to one of the poles.
