"A young Venezuelan woman was murdered by her partner inside a motel located in the Alarcón neighborhood, Bucaramanga, Colombia.

E.G.P., 26 years old, was stabbed several multiple by José Aníbal Melgarejo, 60 years old, after they had a heated argument.

The couple were inside the hotel when the young woman decided to end the relationship with her perpetrator, who did not want to accept the breakup and proceeded to take out a knife and stab her five times between the chest and face.

The witnesses immediately notified the authorities and prevented the subject from fleeing the scene.

The mayor of Bucaramanga, Jaime Andrés Beltrán, rejected the crime and spoke about the results of the authorities' action. “From the first day of our government, we gave precise instructions to successfully confront insecurity and any act of violence, which is why the alleged perpetrator was captured by the Bucaramanga Police.”

Agents from the Technical Investigation Corps, CTI, were in charge of carrying out the technical inspection of the corpse and collecting evidence for the investigative process, while the captured person was left at the disposal of the Prosecutor's Office to respond to this violent event."
