Re: Colombia - Tourist Struck By Lightning On The Beach
Only about 10% of people who receive CPR live to tell the tale, and that's with expert medical attention and medications available soon after. Hollywood has a lot to answer for, when people drown, get a shock, get shot....etc, then are brought back to life with CPR, a bit of a cough and a choke....and up they spring like nothing happened.... |

Re: Colombia - Tourist Struck By Lightning On The Beach
The lack of obvious burns, the fact she was soaked in Salt water, make me think she was conductive enough that much of the current passed on the surface and not through the core body compartments. I would be near certain CPR would have saved her. She could have been quite drunk, which wouldn't have helped, based on her swimsuit bottoms being misplaced to the side of her labia. Or that could have happened from the shock of the strike especially if that was the exit point.

They can, but usually their quality of life suffers immensely. Lightning causes nerve damage and that’s not pleasant at all.

Re: Colombia - Tourist Struck By Lightning On The Beach
This is one of the many reasons I proclaim myself as an atheist. Religious fanatics will find a reason to justify this as God having his reasons or humans impacting the course of nature through global destruction. Fact is, any loving parent will protect its child from harm and no BS can justify otherwise. This young woman's family and loved ones will cry their hearts out but God still loves his children? I'll respect your religion, but FUCK YOU if you come to my face with that shit.

Re: Colombia - Tourist Struck By Lightning On The Beach
If you look at the video frame-by-frame you can see a trail of smoke from the sky directly to her then the lightning bolt follows that trail exactly. Weird. Anyone here know what's going on with that?
