I work with an old Nigerian immigrant whose first language is one of the 5-or 6-hundred languages spoken in West Africa and trying to understand his English through a pandemic mask is audio assault. But I'm a caring person so I try to figure it out, pocket Hausa-dictionary in hand, only to learn that he's only asking for silly favors or making off-color remarks about young women
