Re: Collection of Sniper Shots
I was just thinking along these same lines. My team mates and I goof around all the time shooting long range with pistols. There happens to be a small bush the size of a shoe box about 230 yards that we shoot regularly with standard 9mm pistols like Glocks, HK and Sig's; a little more elevation will get a 45 ACP down there too. By these guys standards, we are all World Record Snipers LOL! One of our drills was to sprint 30 meters, round a ruck sack, sprint back, drop down prone next to a 7.62 precision rifle, do 10 push ups, grab a round drop it in the chamber then take a shot at a DIME taped to the target at 100 meters. If you missed, start the drill over. The stop watch and line of several team mates watching and waiting their turn just adds to the fun! (I never did miss BTW) |

Re: Collection of Sniper Shots
That's how "operators" train routinely.. You must train exactly the way it would be in combat. In addition to being physically fit (a very big deal), one must be able to control many physical aspects of their shooting. Being cardio-vascularly fit and able to not be winded and to think clearly when breathing heavily is a big deal. Physical fitness, breath control, and relaxation.. If you have your weapon dialed in, you know exactly where the rounds are going!!!! |
