After the dramatic rescue of a car that fell into the frenetic waters of Niagara (NY), a 60-year-old woman was found dead and the police concluded that it was a suicide. The vehicle is still in the river.

The woman who died after her car entered the Niagara River deliberately drove onto the New York waterway bordering Canada, investigators concluded.

"At this point in the investigation, entering the water appears to be an intentional act," police told in a statement Thursday. After diving into the water, the car stopped about 100-150 feet from the American Falls.

The terrifying incident triggered a dramatic Coast Guard rescue captured on video when a diver was lowered from a helicopter to retrieve the woman.

The driver, who according to authorities was in her 60s, was later pronounced dead. She was the only occupant of the car.

As of Thursday, the vehicle remained in the river, slowly approaching the edge, according to the report. Police have not identified the driver, but she was reportedly from the Buffalo area.

Niagara Falls Binational Park is one of the most visited natural tourist sites in the world. The famous boat trip runs from April to October, as the rest of the year it is normal for the waters to freeze.

~ Ironically she decided to commit suicide in her car because it was probably too cold for her to do it by just jumping.
~ She must also have gotten so tired of life as we know it now, that she had to end it all.
~ As most people have noticed, alot of people in their 60's have been commiting suicide nowadays.
