The Amazonas State Public Security Secretariat has dismissed the civilian public servant who was driving an unmarked Chevrolet pick-up truck involved in the accident that killed barber J.G.d.S , 31, on Thursday evening in Manaus. Leandro S.d.L. was later detained and booked for manslaughter but was released after posting a R$ 10,000 bail In Brazil, all vehicles owned by public safety departments are legally considered part of the police/security fleet. The dismissal was adopted as a measure to guarantee complete transparency in the investigations into the case. One of many reasons I have never wanted to ride a motorcycle. No protection from vehicles on the road. If the bike was a car, both drivers might walk away.

The biggest reason I don't ride a motorcycle on the roads these days. You can be a the most responsible, cautious, law-abiding rider in the world, but it won't stop others from being dangerous on that same road.
