Chinese National Jumped from 5th Floor
Chinese nat'l jumped from the 5th floor of the condo A 43-year-old Chinese national jumped from the fifth floor of a condominium building at the corner of Padre Algue Street, Tondo, Manila Thursday morning. The victim is married, jobless, and a resident of a condo in the said area. In the initial report, the suspect and live-in partner allegedly had a fight that allegedly led to the beating and stabbing of his wife. When the police responded, the suspect allegedly got scared and ran to the roof deck and threatened to jump off the five-story building. His live-in partner even tried to stop him from going ahead with what he was allegedly planning but he suddenly jumped because the operatives of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the police could not catch him due to the speed of the incident. Based on P/Capt. Dennis Turla, chief of the Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide Section, they received a call from MPD Police Station 2 at 7 a.m. regarding the incident. Unfortunately, the Chinese national also lost his life when he was taken to the hospital. The police investigation into the incident continues. |

Re: Chinese National Jumped from 5th Floor
He missed the safety net, bummer. There's so many measures to go into trying to save a person who is suicidal and wanting to jump to their death..and in ways I think it's great because I do think for some, it does save them. But I think most people that are jumping to their death, they chose that suicide method because they want to be sure it's a successful attempt to leave this Earth. It's just a sad reality I am glad that people there trying to intervene does actually help some people. |

Note to self: always jump head-first or belly flop when trying to kill yourself; never feet-first.
