At about 9:30 on the evening of August 27, 2018 a knife-and-hacking case occurred on Zhenchuan Road, Kunshan City, which aroused widespread public concern.
According to a video circulating on the Internet, a white BMW car drove into a non-motorized lane and had a dispute with a man riding a bicycle.
A man in the back seat of the BMW car got out of the car and quarreled with the cyclist. Despite the female companion’s persuasion, the two people still shoved eachother.
After some time, the BMW driver got out of the car, punched and kicked the bicyclist, then returned to the car and took out a long knife/machete and tried to slash the bicyclist.
Although the bicyclist tried to avoid the blows repeatedly, he was still hit. In the process, the BMW driver's machete dropped to the ground and the bicyclist picked up the machete and returned the violence by slashing at the BMW driver.
Then the BMW driver evacuated to the rear, and the cyclist chased after him and cutting him several times.
