Maybe. But if she was using modern expanding rounds like hollow-points in any reasonable pistol caliber, the possibility of a shoot-through would be relatively low. That's why I carry the best controlled-expansion rounds I can get my hands on (Federal HST.) I'm responsible for any/all rounds fired, so expanding rounds are essential for both protecting innocents nearby -and- stopping the attacker as quickly as possible.

This was far more clever imo, give him the drink and the only hand he can use is the one he's holding the knive with so that sorta puts the hostage in a better position. A sniper is always at risk of the bullet going through the perpetrator thus risking hitting the hostage? |
