China doesn't have good Samaritan laws. If you touch an injured person they can sue you and you'll have to pay them for life. That's why you see a lot of fatal accidents involving pedestrians. It's cheaper to pay for a funeral than a monthly health payment for someone injured for the rest of their life. In one case an old lady fell and group of children playing in the streets when over and helped her. When the police arrived the old lady blamed the children and the children's family had to pay for her health needs for the rest of her life after she won in court.

They do have legal protection as of 2017 on a federal level, but getting people to realize this will take far more time than it should.

After the 2011 death of Wang Yue, where over a dozen people ignored the cries of a two year-old who had been run over by 2 vehicles for close to 10 min, and cited the fear of financial ruin as the biggest reason why they didn't help, local protections were enacted in many regions, but the 2017 legislation is supposed to apply across the board.

Seriously, you need to get the fuck out of your bunker or something and see China for what it is. There's not anything wrong with the people, it's the system. They are so fucking oppressed in that country that you wouldn't believe it.

Have you ever heard of a country with a social score system? Well, China has one. And if you as a citizen does anything wrong, can be as little as fucking jaywalking, your social score can be affected. And if your social score falls under 1000, your rights to certain things in society will get more and more limited.

So of course they're catious, wouldn't you? In a normal society people would start calling 911 or start CPR. China is not normal. China will fuck your life if you do anything China doesn't like.
